Hello all. Have a quick question. I am putting together an Italian 1 Lira collection, and I have a question about one of the coins. It is the 1867/3M BN. KM #5A.1.

I can't find anything out about this coin, other than what is on the NGC World Price Guide page. Is this simply an overdate? Or is it something else? I feel it may be an overdate, since the 1 lira coin did jump from 1863 to 1867.

And if anyone has a possible photo, that would be even better. Thanks all.

And of course, as soon as I post the thread I find my answer. Overdate.

What do you have in your Italian Lira collection ? and are you collecting pre-Italian unification lira coins ?

I am putting together a 1 lira set. 1861-1943. I am looking to purchase either NGC graded coins, or coins decent enough to be sent in. Currently I have the following either in hand, or I have purchased and am just waiting for. The BOLD ones are NGC graded coins:

    1863M Shield Reverse
    1863T Shield Reverse
    1863M Value Reverse
    1884R
    1186R
    1887M (VG8)
    1900R
    1902R (F15)
    1908R (VF25)
    1912R (AU58)
    1923R (AU58)
    1924R (MS62)
    1928R (MS65)

    1939R XVII Non Magnetic
    1939R XVIII Non Magnetic
    1940R XVIII Non Magnetic
    1940R XVIII Magnetic
    1942R XX

So 17 out of the 47. I will be emailing NGC soon to get the 1937R XV and the 1938R XVII declared as non competitive, since there were only 50 and 20 minted respectively.
