Recently I have entered Numistat's contest. I got a 2c piece as one of the prizes. I tried looking for the DOD. Instead I found 6 die cracks. 5 reverse, 1 obverse. These are some very noticeable ones. I need info. On the reverse there is one above the U in "United". one on top of O in "Of". One on top of S in "States". One connecting N and I in "United". One connecting C and A in "America". And finally on the Obverse the is one on the N on top on both sides on "In".
By no means am I an expert ,I just happen to have the book. With what you've given me to go on I'm going to say you have Variety #1 (I guess that's what it should be called) Here is a bit more info. From this description it seems likely but I could just as well be wrong.
Wait for Bill aka the Penny guy he is an expert on two cent pieces . You should see his collection it took second place at the Baltimore Whitman show as best display. It should of been 1st Place by all means .
Gee thanks Paddy. I took third at Baltimore just after my exhibit took Best of Show at MSNS. Lots of die varieties in the whole series. The only real premium the OP would see would be selling to a collector of those varieties, but not a lot of those collectors around.
