Hello, I have this 1865 half dollar. Wanted to know if this half dollar is a sharp MS example or possibly Proof?

    Weight: 12.43 g

If it were real, it would be in a holder.

I dunno, man. I think either fake or messed with.

But then these are out of my league, what do I know?

Cleaned and buffed to its death. How could someone do this ? That shine makes me cringe.

I've never seen a cleaner coin. It's a details grade.

Thanks for the input, it's unfortunate but at least I paid about face value along with some other half dollars, at least I have something for comparison

Yeah.... I am a big lover of blast white seated coins. That coin would have certainly turned my head. Sad fact is that when it shines like the bumper of a 58 Buick, it’s a solid bet it has been on the buffing wheel.
