you know how when you flip a coin up and down it is supposed to be upright. Is it normal to flip an 1865 two cent from side to side and the heads and tales to be upright.

    could be a rotated die.

Normal, no. Uncommon, yes. Rare, probably not so much. I have a 180 degree rotated one from 1864.

Your description could be a tad clearer, but no... it's not "normal" and as the other gentleman said, could suggest a rotated die (if I indeed understood you correctly). With that said, they're not terribly uncommon on the type, and one of the early years (64 or 65) a rotated die is a fairly common occurrence.

As noted, reverse die rotation is not rare on two cent pieces. It is usual to be rotated a full 180 degrees, most rotations are something less than 180 degrees

Well thank you guys. Rotated die is the word I wanted. Is it worth anything over face value?

Sure it's worth more than face but very little added value because of the rotation.
