Just found a 1864 L cent w/ doubling. Not everything is doubled. Date is in insides but not outside. Lips and chin are but not nose bridge and forehead. Most likely machine doubling, I know my luck!
It looks like real doubling to me, I'm not an expert though. I would wait for someone else to confirm. I noticed some similar doubling on one of my morgans recently, I was pretty happy. The strange thing is the doubling is only on the cap.
