    Hey guys,

Was looking through my quarters and noticed something off about the 'O-F A-M-E' tonight. Nothing is mentioned at NGC on their variety page, nor anything in the Briggs book. Is this anything significant, or is it just typical machine doubling?

    Thanks! 1862SLQms64rev_01.jpg

I'm not seeing split serifs, so my guess is it is MD. Nice looking coin though. :) A pic of the obverse would be nice, if for no other reason than to admire its beauty.

Only thing that jumps out at me is a possible reengraved M and a over polished/ lapped die

What are you using for imaging equipment? These are tremendous pics.

Snerk. 1862 is a deceptive rarity considering its' mintage, especially in Mint State. Very much underpriced in the market, and if this one's not an AU58 slider I bet it was a pretty darn good buy at MS63. :)

Never mind, didn't realize he imaged them. I understand why they're flawless now. :)

Pretty much because Bob is flawless, lol.

I have been so grateful that he was willing to tackle my quarters. He now has my whole set imaged for me and it turned out AWESOME!

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

The coin itself appears to be high quality, attractive, and original. Thus, it is definitely something special.

The letters you speak of on the reverse are due to machine doubling, and are not special.
