Did you read Don Willis's Rules posted at the top of the U.S. Coin section. I think it will be a different forum there if he enforces them as he says. PCGS way or the Highway.
Ohh yah you mean from this website? http://128.192.145.172/dan15.html Cheers buddy but he never got it authenticated and it was just a photo from the 60's!
csa penny i aslo have a 1862 confederate penny. Im not real sure about these. if anyone could shed some light as to if its real and if its not what a real one looks like... i got this off an old man i eat breakfast with... thanks for all your help.
Do you have a cent or a half dollar? Photos would help. More than likely (approximately 99.9999742%) your coin is either a reproduction.
The ones dated 1862 were made in the 1960s era as souvenirs. This thread might help, and you can search for several others on the forum over the years. Jim http://www.cointalk.com/t77216/
thank you... i figured it was... whats the real ones worth now? like close to a million... thats what i heard anyways
Oh by the way, just in case you wanted to know how "respected" jesse P was, it turns out he was a barely known boxer. Absolutely nothing related to anything really important.
haha...sounds about right... i was n the same boat he was.. i had a 1862 coin but i asked my question and got my answer now im done with it! i had heard that they were only made in 1861 now i know... just took a lil reading and asking some questions... think boxer might wanna take some lesson's from yours truly
In your first post all you said was you "have a 1862 confederate states of America coin" and you did not include photos. I knew the CSA produced a few cents and half dollars and I was wondering which one you have. By the time I posted my reply you had already posted the photos (just a few seconds before my post). I should have known by the date of your coin that it was a reproduction but I am not an authority on CSA coins. Sorry for the confusion.
