Lets not over think it guys. At first glance it's decent but with problems/worked/processed somehow. Not enough market acceptable coins to go around so coins like this are sometimes all thats out there. Nothing wrong with owning a coin like this. Just don't overpay for it. Raw, I wouldn't want to be any deeper than 20% back of greysheet AU. Without checking what that is I would pass and save my dough to put toward an actual slabbed example if I was buying online. Paying MS money on this coin and having a TPG validate the grade is a real gamble IMO. Ah, what do I know.....take it with a grain.
I would not be surprised if this coin had been whizzed. Slight wear with really poppin luster is suspect to me...
Well this coin sold for $1259.00 but was returned and is now once again up for sale on e bay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1857-Flying-Eagle-Cent-Untoned-Uncirculated-Beautiful-BU-Surfaces/380626318477?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D7260178822654392943%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D2%26sd%3D360642244923%26 Now at $510.00 and 1 day 8 hours left wonder what it will end up this time......to me at $510.00 still over priced
This seller is well known for images that show the actual look of the coin. One of the good guys for sure.
I know a lot of people do business with this seller and like his products. Here's what he says about this coin... ...does anyone find fault in these statements?
I would graded a strong Au .1857 finding a strong strike on that date is not easy. As for color really only the coin knows..
I think i found this to be the most interesting part of this whole thread: I must say KUDOS cremebrule, great eye for who the seller was on like the 4th post of this thread.
