The S-16 has a long history. At one point the variety was delisted as a variety and thought of as a die state. At that time the teardrop shape was being called a cud or a central die break. Later, the misplaced digits were discovered, lower in the neck of the eagle. Tough to see in lower grades. Today, some still call the teardrop shape a cud. I just call it an S-16. I have never seen one of these with a filled die. Pretty cool coin.
in mint state they are sometimes easier to see, on ebay there are a few offered, one has 4 digits, the other one i saw has 15 digits (that one is real herd to SEE)
