Hey everyone, I have only been collecting for two years so im still pretty green to it. I am a big fan of dimes and with a little good luck I found a 1856 dime at my grandmothers house. It looks to be in awesome condition. When I opened the red book to see the grade the main focal points are the "liberty" on the shield and the scroll edges. Liberty is very clear and the coin has a lot of detail left. My question is, where is the scroll located? It seems like a dumb question but im not exactly sure where to look. When I googled it all of the pics showed double dies. Ive always liked dimes and this one looks to be in exceptional shape. Just wanted to know so I can properly grade the coin. Thanks for your time! Jason
Sweet! Not a bad little find in a old box in a attic. The cool part is I love my dimes. I appreciate your help and input!
The "scroll" is the "band" or "ribbon" thingy that the word LIBERTY is written on. The scroll crosses the shield diagonally.
