Here's the Numismedia trends page. That says $20 in G4 and $22 in VG8. Deducting some for the surface issues, I'd call this a VG (details) coin, and would agree with the previous respondents that it's essentially a $10-15 coin as-is. The "Slanted 5's" is a fun variety. I don't believe it carries any particular premium over the 1855 "Upright 5's" variety, but it's interesting because I read somewhere (in the Red book, maybe?) that the slanted 5's were a quirky eccentricity of designer Christian Gobrecht's work.
I've not seen written anywhere that the slanted 5's is any rarer than the upright 5's but for some reason in EF they are tougher to come by. I have a Dansco that I've been working on for years and have yet to add that one to it. I have crossed paths with a few but the price wasn't what I considered in the ball park. Maybe I got the upright too cheap.
Alright thanks guys, paid $10 because i wanted the slanted 5. Hopefully it looks better with better photos
It looks like there might be some PVC residue on the coin. This is acidic and will damage the coin. A good acetone dip will remove it without damaging the surface. If you are unfamiliar with using acetone, search the archives here. There is lots of info.
