As most of you believed this was Au I agree 100% ...not the only time Anacs has graded wrong....as if majority replies were Au from a photo I guarantee in hand it definitely is a Au coin. Not saying its ms or unc...its not. But its no where near xf by any grading books or charts I have used to grade with....most of my dealer friends agree Au.55/58 when they examine in hand. From an Anacs special @$10 per coin.

In hand you would love it the color and wear is perfect..nice eye appeal.

 

Very nice looking Large Cent and definitely in the AU camp. Even though I’m not good with this series I feel it’s an AU-55.

 

Honestly, I was tempted to call it EX 45, but I felt it may be a little harsh. The reverse was what had me push it up to AU50.

 

Its a solid 55 again in hand vs photo ....and the color is a nice chocolate brown...over the entire coin. Yes there some wear...but not as bad as to what an xf grade . Between the 2 coins ill most probably bust out and try a piggyback on someone's submission to ngc or pcgs.

 

Way more like AU55 look to me.
