1853 Spain 2 Reales coin - non standard 2.63 grams

    Normal 2 Reales coins in 1700 and 1800s generally are in the 6.7 to 6.9 grams area...is anyone able to explain why in Spain, they minted 2 Reales coins with weight of 2.63 grams in 1837, and again in the 1852 to 1864 time frame? 2 Reales coins minted in Mexico during the same 1853 year, for example, are the normal 6.76 grams
