Cool coin....something AUish...but unfortunately cleaned at some point.
But still impressive, indeed.

 

1857-S, perhaps weak AU gold seems to attract scratches.
There is no 53-S. As for value, IDK $3000?

 

Thirty years ago this was a big coin, but due to exposed treasures like the gold of the SS Central America it ranks in the middle of the Type 1 Libs.
I estimate a price range of 1.800 to 1.900 Dollars for the coin showed.

 

I was unaware there was a glut. That is important information.
