Nice pickup - I think it looks at least 55. Congrats and I agree with medjoy. Stop by there often to see what else you might find.

That makes sense. Seeing it in hand is a lot different then a pic a lot of times

Update: I sold this to a pawn/coin shop for $180. I wasn't going to make much more going the eBay route, plus this option gave me cash on the spot.

These are two that I have. Anyone want to take a shot at what you think they would grade at?

The left one seems to be high AU, but the right one seems not to be authentic.
    Do you have reverse pics?

These were part of my inheritance. My dad collected from roughly 1950 - 1970. I do not know when / where these were obtained.

I have this too, and to me it looks fake but I really don't know what to look for.

Sorry, I'm not a specialist in Fractional Gold, but this one looks really faked:sorry:

The two dollars appear genuine. The fractional has a bear on it which usually means it is fake.

It looks good. I just got an 1853 back from grading that got by me. It looks better than most genuine mint products. They can be so very hard to tell. I see dealers paying $195-$205 for VF's

Thanks. I assume most dealers should be able to confirm that for me if I bring it in?

I assume you mean by "got by me" that it was fake?

I picked this one up the other day. Yours looks nicer for sure.

I know this is a necro-thread but I picked this up recently. Has a bit of wear and tear but I am hoping not details cleaned. LCS had it marked XF and under a good light some scratches. I don't want to take it out of the flip yet in case I should need to take it back...opinions? I like it but it is my first gold coin and not really experienced on how these wear compared to silver. Used a small portion of my stimulus check... Polish_20200511_125557612.jpg

Please post better pictures. It appears to be an XF, but what should we say with a low quality obv picture and no picture of the rev?

I will try but I don't know about the reverse because it is stapled into the flip.

I will try but I don't know about the reverse because it is stapled into the flip. Excuse my fingers but I think if I try to crop with a photo editor app it will pixelate and create a worse image...
