Thanks in advance for any insight. I am a newbie & inherited this coin (and others) so any help is appreciated. BTW, can anyone recommend a reputable coin dealer? I'm interested in having the coin graded. I'm in Tallahassee, FL

Do not know. Not by me. As far as I know this coin was purchased by my great-grandfather for my grandfather for a birthday present. My grandfather collected coins & stamps, but only a few things came to me. He had something like 17 grandchildren.

Definitely get it graded....since even in VF it can range from about $400-$1,000 by increments and stated 'issues' such as cleaning etc.

And yours appears to be closer to EF...

XF-45 and worth about 900 or so. Nice coin, I'd get it graded because the price jumps up really quickly in the AU range. You could get lucky.
