There was no 8 reales struck at any of the mints that matches the C mint mark with the date of 1837 and an assayer&#039;s initial of M. </p><p><br /></p><p>There were however coins struck on that date with the letters you provided being used as part of the legend. For example - the mint could be CA - but not just C.
