1837 half dime

Hi, I picked this half dime up at my coin dealer for 1 dollar and I was wondering how much it is worth. It is in pretty poor condition. It appears to be a large date. Any ideas of how much it is worth?

Due to condition, I'd say $1.00, which is close to melt value. Nice to have though.

Yup, some good old honest wear on that one. I think it might actually be PR-1. For a dollar, I'd say you did quite well - but it probably isn't worth a whole lot more than that.

 

I would say that at the time and location you bought it, it was worth a dollar.

 

If you got a Poor-1 at PCGS it would be a homerun as they have a lot of demand for those.
