I picked this one up today from a 3rd string auction house. I don't do much with USA coinage. Any ideas on a grade for this and what variety as I saw there are several for this year.

I love the clash....that be a plus for me pulling the trigger.
It appears that the surface has some unnatural look...not quite the pouris surface of a dug coin.....but not looking to my eye a natural skin.
It has several hits.... the 1 in the date but there is plenty of details I say xf details very neat piece . The clash is really cool.
Is that the head of 1838?

It has Choice VF sharpness, but the surfaces are mildly rough, and the color might not be natural. If the color in the photos in accurate, it looks to be a bit “off.” It’s an odd looking brown that you usually don’t see on a coin with these surfaces.
