    Hey guys,

I've been very fortunate to handle a lot of nice coins recently. Here's my favorite - an 1836 Gobrecht pattern dollar. These coins were the first of the legendary Seated Liberty design, and some of the first to welcome the steam press to the US Mint.

Anyway, I always welcome comments and opinions. Also, I could explain about this coin but prefer our members to use this as an opportunity to read about themselves.

    Live it up !

That coin is most marvelously beautiful. The thought of the cost of adding that to my collection is stultifying. Thanks for the look Rick.......:)

It was a chance find im not even sure if it was real. But the buyer seemed happy for $170 and left no bad feedback for the seller.

This is my favorite coin design. It's why I like the flying eagle cent so much. That is one awesome coin 900

I wouldn't turn my nose up at it, to be sure, but I distinctly prefer the design of the 1839 version. Is this one of the medal alignment strikes or is it coin alignment?

Very nice coin. I imagine such a coin would be the crown jewel to many collections.

I could reduce my whole coin collection down to just that one coin. Well, maybe, a couple more but that would be it. Nice coin.

The placement of the PCGS gasket around the coin allows one to determine the orientation. It has a coin alignment with the eagle flying upward.

What an awesome piece of American history! In a word, it's just smooth.

BTW, here's my proprietary method to ruin nice type coins for little to no reason, or how to make a really ugly mule:

    1) Get a no stars seated dime
    2) Get a flying eagle cent
    3) File cent down ~1.1mm in diameter
    4) Duct tape together
    5) Enjoy at a fraction of the cost!

Electroplating with mercury is optional, as is lathing each coin for appropriate thickness of final product :)
