1835 Half dime somebody drilled it

Well Randy you know I wish lunch could last forever! LoL

But how about this tid bit from an old boat captain...as a sailer one never knew if attacked that the ship might sink? As well the scurvy mates who would steal your money...but if you holed a coin and tied it around your neck...if the ship sank and you survived you had your money...as well that mate sleeping on the other bail of cotton did not dare try and steal your money....as you cut their throat if they tried.
So one of many reason coins were holed.
