This is one of my favorite coins in my collection. Wondering if this could be a rare die pairing. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
Nice coin! It appears to be Cohen-2, based on the close spacing of the S and T in "STATES." There are only two die pairings this year and they are both R.1 (pretty common). Below are some links with pictures and more information about the 1835 C-2. http://www.coinfacts.com/half_cents/1835_half_cent_varieties/1835_half_cent_c2.htm https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-varieties/half-cents/1835-1-2c-c-2-106/
I have the Dime and Quarter VF to XF to start a Year set. Your Half Cent would fill one empty spot in my year set very nicely.
AU details cleaned. The color and "halo" of luster around the letters and devices indicate an old cleaning.
