I spent a little bit of time this morning looking up the variety. This is the same reverse die that was used on the 1833 B-1. The reverse design was modified to fit onto a smaller planchet. The OF A were repunched. leaving light traces of the letters in the field. This would be an earlier die stage. Here is a MS65 that was sold. You can see some of the A in the auction photos. https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/l...arter-b-1-fs-901-rarity-1-of-in-of-ms-65-pcgs And here is a later die stage where only faint remnants of the OF A are visible. The markers on this one are the arcing rim to rim die crack, and a multiple clash below the ear on the bust. https://coins.ha.com/itm/bust-quart...2-3536.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
