Ok. This is an 1830 capped bust half that I am considering purchasing. At first glance it appears to be a “small O”, “small letters” type coin. VF Condition, possibly cleaned obverse. What puzzles me is the reverse. Although the US of A appears to be the small letters variety as mentioned, the 50C appears to be of the large letters type. I’ve not been able to find one like this to compare. Can any of you experts tell me if this might possibly be considered large letters in the eyes of A major grading service? Or is this a basic small letters type coin with an insignificant anomaly? With the significant difference in value I’d like to be sure before I negotiate a price. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
