Scans show both sides (and size comparison) of a copper or copper-brass British naval medal commemorating the victory of the combined British-French-Russian fleet over the Ottoman Turks, fought in support of Greece's quest for independence. The battle took place at Navarin(o), Greece, now Pylos. Read about the battle, circumstances, and outcome in Wikipedia. Struck in 1827, designed by Boyard, just below portrait. The obverse reads "La flotte Anglo Franco Russe vainquit les turcs a Navarin, le 20 Octo. 1827. The reverse names the admirals; Codrington of Great Britain, Heiden of Russia, and de Rigny of France. Condition in my opinion, fine plus, but with rim dents. I do not have the slightest idea what this piece is worth, but will offer it for $22 postpaid, shipped ONLY to the United States. It is now 190 years old. The US silver dollar and half dollar are NOT included in the deal, they are shown for size comparison only. Thanks for looking.
