Hey guys I bought a 1824/4 half dollar. Im newer to coin collecting and I am learning how to grade. Although it seems more difficult than I thought lol. I was just wondering what you guys think this coin would grade. I try not to impulse buy but this purchase was a spur of the moment decision and Im hoping I didnt pay too much. Thank you for any help you can give.

This is a toughie - the obverse looks VF and the reverse looks VG, maybe F. I would go with F details on the coin and say price between $90 and $110 retail.

Thanks for your replys! I was thinking f as well, but was hoping for better lol. Do you guys think its worth getting coins like this protected an graded by pcgs or ngc? Or is it not worth the money? Also how does Icg rank in the coin world? I always see pcgs coins selling for top dollar compared to icg even for the same grades so I assume pcgs is the best to use.
