1823 Large Cent- can you see what's wrong?

I believe there are two repeating depressions in the hair between the E and R of Liberty. One of them looks like a ^

First thing I noticed was the date was all wrong, specifically the tall thin 1 and the 8 isn't wide enough, Next was the point of the sixth star and the tip of the coronet. On the genuine 23's it point s at or slightly lef tof the tip of the coronet. On the questionable piece it point to the right of the tip of the coronet. The left edge of the curl is also too far right compared to the 2. Haven't looked at the reverse yet.
