s-l1600.jpg Thought the mouse was impressive on this one and didn't have one yet. $41 delivered seemed like an ok price for this one to me. F-12 to 15?? N-7 for variety? https://www.ebay.com/itm/283069192813

Yup. N-7. It is one of three mouse varieties for the year. The tight date is indicative. I bought one in similar condition at a show for $12 a little over a year ago.

This variety without the mouse is a 4-digit R6 rarity.

now you are making me feel bad about price paid with your $12 comment! I have not seen any on the bay for close to that price.

Nice pickup. Always loved the 1817 varieties my first ever large cent was a 1817 15 star

It was a fluke and mistake by the dealer. I caught him at a bad time at a coin show, and he told me $12 on all large cents. I went crazy

Excellent price for a mouse (N-7) in VG10/F12!

By the way, the same variety but in the earli(est) die state with no mouse visible is very rare.

Die break on top of the head. Known as the mouse variety.

But be careful. The N-6 uses the same obverse. I use the leaf/F relation on the reverse to make the difference.

Another reason for my scanning through CoinTalk even if I'm busy. I learned about Coronet Heads "with mouse" today. Thanks.
