1817 Capped Bust Half

  1. Would like opinions on the grade. Bought this for myself for Christmas. Pics aren't the best.

    Hi! Merry Christmas and congrats on your nice “gift”. Of possible interest, it looks like Overton O-112, R2 ... or possibly
    O-112a if, in hand, you can see “a die crack (which) circles through leaves to top of UNITED ST” on the reverse.
    I agree with Lord M. that it’s a nice, strong VF, maybe 25 or even 30, by the lights of the grading services. They seem to cut a little slack for earlier dates, esp. pre-1820’s. Will it be part of a date set, type set or just-something-I-like?
