A worn but decent first year Matron Head Large Cent. A clear readable date.

Nice problem free large cent, especially in this type they are usually corroded to hell.

Yes it's worn but she's great looking. Not a sign of corrosion on her, just 205 years of circulation. Lol

Did you find that in your change from Starbucks? That's where I got most of mine ;) Kidding aside, that's pretty neat - congratulations.

If I circulated 205 years Id look allot worst! 64 years and Matron still looks better

@Collecting Nut Nice addition. Good honest wear. With @potty dollar 1878
1817 and your 1816, this thread has a good start on a date run of Large Cents. I'll try to find my 1815 piece and help out.;);)

Maybe the forum could start a thread with each type and post a date
every 24 hours. Start with Large Cents and work forward. First day
anyone who has a 1793 including varieties, can post. Then the next
date. The only rule would be is that you own the coin you are posting.
I know 1793 Large Cents are a rare bird then we could start with 1794.
We could always start with the last date and go backwards. Just a thought.

@mrweaseluv That is a sweet piece. Noticed that it is not in
TPG plastic yet. I'm sure you will eventually send it in for a
    safeties sake. :p:p

Actualy thought it was a Dan Carr piece, but when I posted it to CU Dan himself told me it was'nt one of his but he's pretty sure, like his, it's an overstrike of an original coin (not 1815 obviously lol)

The 1816 Is a N-9 R-3. The 17 is N-8 R-2, early stage before the "mouse" on top of the head starts forming.
