I saw this coin in a dealer’s auction, and I would have gone all-in had I the money. The variety is O-109, which is one of the best-struck die varieties in the entire Bust Half series.

PCGS graded. This is NOT an anti-TPG thread. I was simply drawn to this coin and I thought I’d share. :)

I think it's really a high AU. I'll guess 58. Some kind of MS grade wouldn't shock me.

I know nothing about bust halves but that looks MS to me! Awesome.

    MS 61

I got burned on the last one of these.
Everything is somewhat better on this one than on the last one, so that's where I'm at.

    MS62, maybe even a 64, definitely a really nice coin! :D tumblr_nc00m1h0eL1qhub34o1_400.gif

I just noticed that it may have a ding right above the "F" on the reverse, is that a ding or just a poor pic? Does it matter? I know nothing at all about this series simply because they sell for too much money for me. Please educate me. :D

I think that’s just light reflecting off the edge of one of the holder prongs.

I’ve also seen these where the stamping of the lettered edge creates what looks like a small rim ding on a letter or two.

That’s one of the few Busties where I don’t see any obvious wear. MS63?

Great answer! :shame: I'm sure PCGS and other TPG's give this series a push on grading because of their age and rarity on the MS ones. I'm thinking it's an MS64! :)

I'm at 64 but 65 or better wouldn't shock me sweet coin.
