I'm deffinately in that class. Like Mark, I like looking at my coins in albums. I can see why a slab might be better when it comes time to sell, and like was mentioned, many collectors, or auction houses rather, do just that. BTW, thanks a bunch guys...now I feel like I need to add some draped bust halves to this months want list! :D

I don't want a slide rubbing my MS-64 Morgan, not so big a deal with a circulated coin.

    TPG's must love "crackers" !

I don't think you can give any credence to population reports of many coins where a point means big bucks.

While I'm not a huge fan of cracking out coins...I really like the set you are putting together and I think it looks great in the album. I would love to see pics of our whole set.

I really don't crack out many coins , none of my MS Type coins get cracked , but all my Draped and Bust halves under XF do , There's nothing like holding a Bust half in your hand and actually see the writing on the rim and all the different types of writing they used . Same with the few ancients I have .

reasonable compromise, no way would I crack out MS type coins to put them in an album either. same with key dates, even a 16-D dime in Ag-3

Now say it were SLQ's in VF-XF, I'd like it raw for the early years, that's pretty pricey in EF, big bucks in like MS-63, same with walking halves or Mercs
