Nice coin and nice series. I considered collecting it myself at one point, but for old copper, decided on 2 cents. Why not go for one per date? With the money saved by not buying the numerous varieties of some dates, you might have enough to buy an 1802. Might also be able to step-up to AU for a couple of dates. Cal
My #1 effort is finishing up the Cohen varieties of the Classic Head half cents. There are 25 and right now I'm at 21. I've got two of the tough ones -- the two 1811. But not surprisingly the four that I'm missing are also expensive (I shoot for VF/XF and will consider something in AU). For these I pretty much need a large show. The Baltimore Whitman shows are the one I attend (the summer one just canceled). I can get Chris McCawley, Butternut and Tom Reynolds there. Plus there are a few more whose names I don't know yet.
