Looking for your thoughts on the value of this coin. The actual coloring on the coin looks better and more natural, in hand. Without those 2 cuts in it, I would say it’s a 15, maybe 20, and would be about $250.
The coin has Choice VF, close to EF sharpness. The huge scratch down the center of the obverse and the cleaning are major negatives. I find this issue very interesting. The reverse is in the style of the 1790s, and likely a die from the 1790s that was not used. This die was used for a short time in 1802 to produce the 1802 “old reverse” half cents. I will post a coin from collection tomorrow. I am now on an iPad.
