I have an 1800 Dollar that I believe to be the dotted date variety. I want to send it to CAC to get it slabbed and graded (for preservation and to prove authenticity, I hope). There is evidence of something going on in the 12:00 position that I can't put my finger on. For the experts out there can you tell me what the imperfection is at the top of the coin and if CAC will slab it (even in a details holder)? Thank you in advance...
I'm no expert at all, but I would suspect a repaired hole because of the color and shape of the anomaly. I'm interested to see what the real experts have to say about it. (By the way, it would be easier for us to see if, when you are uploading your pictures, you would click on the "full image" tab.)
