18?3or8 shield nickel

Got it for a dollar I know its nothing special maybe AG if I'm lucky just wondering if you can tell the date

My first impression was that of 1868.

Kinda what I was thinking too but not sure

 

I figured it looked to rounded to be a 3 at the end and in order to be a 78 it would have to be proof and it's not a proof

Looks to be reverse hub IIa so that would make it 68
