[QUOTE="Marshall, post: 949115, member: 21705"]I have now owned this coin for a couple of hours. I present it to you for comments. For my part, I am well pleased. The provenance goes through copperheads which frequent this board so the authentication is more solid than a TPG to me. I am looking at several points which don't appear to fit the attribution as S-189, but could have several reasons for such appearances. 1. The Fraction bar appears to be long, rather than short. 2. The leaf under D, though heavily worn, doesn't seem to extend to the curve of D. 3. The E of UNITED seems tilted right a bit. 4. The middle 7 and 9 seem low like the S-188 but with the spacing of the S-189. 5. B in LIBERTY seems a bit high. One of the Holmes S-189s seems to share a verticle crack through the top right leaves through the Ns of ONE CENT through the right loop to the fraction. This should assure the correct attribution, but I like to get there myself and try to figure out the anomalies. I want to express my appreciation to those who assisted me in converting my Charlotte Quarter Eagles into the copper I never thought I'd get. It's only right that EAC member 1799 should have this addition. Thank you for allowing me to share this exiting moment which I never expected to have. Now gushing moment aside, be brutaly honest with your thoughts, I have a thick skin.
