Anyone who deals with seated coins has undoubtedly heard of him before. I'm sure others will chime in and vouch for him.
I can't speak for anyone other than myself, and I certainly didn't state anything unequivocably. The reason I thought it may be NG was because of the odd looking date. That said, I think the situation was exacerbated by the small photos. Now, looking at the larger photos it seems (at least to me) that the coin appears to be genuine. Regardless, I stick by my comments -- this is a coin I would shy away from for the digs and other problems even if genuine. Others may have (and are certainly entitled to) a differing opinion....Mike

Given the pictures that Mike has posted I have no problem with saying I was wrong - apologies to seatedime for that. But I will comment, the die crack doesn't prove anything. A cast copy of a genuine coin would have the very same die crack.
