Seriously. That coin website says that even in poor condition it's worth more than $900. I considered the bust dollar to be way to expensive for me, so getting one for that price is not bad. Find one for under that price. Not easy.
Wrong website to look at for prices. Look up ha archives to see what damaged bust dollars can be bought for. There's usually a few in every signature auction that sell for under $500. You can buy a low grade problem free for under $900 if you look. There's original well worn g-vg examples with good surfaces to be had for a good price if you look
Very seldom will I disagree with Conder about any early attribution, but it looks like B-9 BB-121 to me.
Yeah your right it isn't B-15, but it still doesn't seem to match B-9 completely either, and those are the only two possible reverses. The first arc of stars over the eagles head seem to be too distant. More closely matching B-15. The layout of the stars is closer to B-9, but the dstances between some of them seem off.
per Bowers about the B-9/BB121: "Star distant from eagle's beak. Arc star pattern, but amateurishly executed, with the first star in the second row out of place and too high. This is the only 1798 reverse with this "sloppy" die work. "
