1797 Draped Cent

    CDC41B08-A8B4-4F24-9634-BB7807545650.png My great Grandmother gave me this in the early 80’s and it’s been traveling around with me since. The reverse is not even legible. It might be worth its weight in copper...

    Don't feel bad .At least you have a date . I have a few , don't know what's in my collection found while metal detecting . There totally blank . They could be a King George Copper , CT copper or who knows maybe a Higley Copper living in CT has it's advantages , lol.

    I am amazed that you can make out the date.

    I should send you my metal detecting large cents.

    Here it is under the microscope with the light on max. I can see the date even better at a certain angle in the direct sunlight.
