No problem - I trust your alls attributions. I just like to practise and you pointed out something I did not think about with the leaf under the S in states. I also realized I only have 3 1796 cents - 1 liberty cap and 2 Draped Bust. I need another Liberty cap for my dansco album.
This my be enough to show the ID on the S-85. Remember, the outside leaf in the cluster under the S stops in the middle of the S on S-85 and no other reverse. I include my comparison coin for reference.
The attribution of the S-86 was easy and the S-85 wasn't that hard. That low 6 made it 84, 85, 86, or 87. (all have the same obv.) Then about the only thing visible in the picture is the UN and the leaves above them. 87 has the point of the leaf (POL) to the left of the U (to the right if the U is held in it's proper upright position)so that's out. 86 has the POL below the center of the U so that's out. That leaves 84 and 85. On 84 the POL of the second leaf just barely reaches the N and is distant from it. On 85 it is close and reaches just past the first upright of the N. S-85 And yes I would be happy with the damaged S-86.
