1796 LIBERTY CAP CENT, WHAT VARIETY?

my guess is S-87
but i am not sure.

A quick look at the reverse does not support the S-87. I believe this to be the S-91.

 

I agree - no way it is a S-87. I think you hit it with S-91.

 

I'd say it's a S-91 too. The leaves by the A in America match S-91 and not S-87.

Ther are only two obv dies for the 96 caps where the 1 is away from the hair S-83 and S-91. On S-83 the 6 is almost right up against the bust. On this coin it is well away. S-91.
