Here is a good one for ya'll . Lets see some opinions on this. I'll give up the coins info in a day or two.
On the reverse it looks like there is the remnant of an X. This coin might have been scratched up even more as a VF example and given a nice, accelerated wear job to submit for a straight grade. And perhaps the doctor did not realize how far the scratch went and had to weigh losing all that meat to keep trying to wear down the scratches. So what's better, a F/VF graffiti piece or a straight Good? This coin settled in the middle in my thought experiment as F Details just scratched, not graffiti. edit: I'm not saying this happened, it's just a thought experiment. Don't want you taking exception to my post. I'm not even close to knowing these things with coins of this value. Just thinking out loud more or less.
Well Geekpryde should take pride in his geekiness Good call on the adjustment marks. It was graded VG8 . Thanks for the comments.
Nice coin. The adjustment marks were easy, and clearly adjustment marks. It is the reverse scratch that bothered me Still, a nice find
