That is a nice one. I have gone though several of these coins as a type collector. I had a couple when I was dealer. They were nice for the grade, and sold less than two hours after I bought them at a show.

This is my "end game" piece. I won't get a better one. PCGS graded it AU-58. At one time NGC graded it MS-62. Thank goodness CAC rejected it. If they had put a bean on it, I could not have afforded it. It's an O-120, a rare variety, and the finest known.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Did CAC reject it at 62 or at 58? Any idea why they rejected it? That is a beautiful piece! I love the obverse toning.

CAC rejected it in the PCGS AU-58 holder. When I look at some of stuff they throw to which they award a sticker, scratch my head. I’ve a photo file of them. But like I said, I’m glad they rejected it.

Physics, here is my 'pedestrian' 1795 if I may. I forgot what variety it is...? Had it since 1986.
It's a little bit like yours, but not as good from a cursory comparison, and suffers from smallpox.
I can certainly understand your happiness at having bought your coin - I was when I got mine :).

Yeah, the G6 on GC is worn, but looks rather wholesome. I looked through a bunch of recent HA sales in F-VF and there are only 2 coins I like. I think attractive is going to be the bigger challenge than grade once you decide it's time. After that, the 96 and 97. :woot:

Haha... the 96 and 97... I'm likely to get an original Libertas Americana before I get one of those!
