Not knowledgeable in the least about these, but couldn't resist pulling the trigger for $29 shipped. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I kind of feel like getting something so pretty graded at NGC, just because it's neat. But idk if it would be worth it. @Conder101
I am doing some research. Looks like it is the D&H 477 variety. Would qualify for Red-Brown. NGC pop lists 5 in MS65 RB and 1 in MS66 RB. Mine looks somewhere between 63 and 65. Not sure how to grade them.
I only have a couple of these, and know next to nothing about them, as a series. Least of all your example. Which is fantastic, both for the content (a chandler in London --that's Great) and the stunning condition. I had the honor of briefly corresponding with Mike Bonser, a numismatist with the British Numismatic Society, who sadly left us in 2013. (Followed shortly by Mark Blackburn. The all-time maven, that's, Maven of Anglo-Saxon and Anglo- and Hiberno-Scandinavian coins.) Toward the end of his life, Mike was collecting higher grade Conder tokens, because that late, he was still on the ground floor to get them before the prices started to enter the stratosphere. ...As they have proceeded to do, notably on UK ebay. Which is only to say, You have Got Yourself a Serious Keeper!!! I know nothing about professional grading, but in this case, it's easy to see why that could have crossed your mind. Hope you get some real advice about that.
I’d wager MS-64 RB. Definitely worth sending in. Lots of people are getting into Conder tokens and driving up the prices because they are old, interesting, highly varied, charming, and relatively affordable in most grades. They have great potential
