Does your coin have a blank reverse? After looking at these two links, it sounds like your coin may be from a money clip made for the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
I suppose who ever has this item, now knows what it is. If not, I have one as well, mine was from a money clip, that's why it has no back. There are also settings for necklaces, bracelets, even earrings. Coin wise it has no value. It is fine silver and worth its weight, whatever silver is going for today. I was kind of taken back for a moment, when the question asked was, "whats bullion" since we have all the info at our fingertips, but then I realized this was from 2005.
This is serpent: 1776 Colonial currency is my avatar. Only difference with my coin, is the date/material (not sure what it is). That the date on my coin is more blunt, not as pointed on original coin. My coin may be a replica. As, I can't see the word copy on it, or could be a pattern. I to, haven't sent my coin in to see if it is real or not.
