Well, I was looking through a junk silver bin when I found this: I bought it for $2.50. I have several questions: 1. Is it real? 2. If it's real, how ,much is it worth? 3. How many were made, denomination, country (Spain I would guess), mint mark if one, other basic stuff, I know little about this. 4. Grade If you need better pictures or pictures of the edge or something else, I will gladly take them Please don't rant about my questions if they are simple. I did try to research it, but I didn't know what to type.
Yes its real, they are fairly common. You did get a good deal at $2.50. 1776 is always a desired date. Its a spanish coin, looks like a 1/2 real, Charles III is the guy on the front.

Can't answer any of the other questions as I don't know by simply seeing the picture. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=1776+SPAIN+COLONIAL+MEXICO+SILVER+COIN+2+REALES+MEXICAN Idea of prices if it is real. Poor condition on yours so if it is no more than $10-$20 Silver according to ebay sellers so put a magnet to it.
I don't know exactly . Just for some kind of a reference, check ebay auctions for that specific coin.
Yeah, I linked him to the auctions. Good quality ones were fetching about $60 BUY IT NOW and his is poor condition. Good buy though.
Hot dang 'Diggit! You've showed me the light! I've been saved, praise the Lord, I've been saved. Alleluia!
If you know little about a coin, one of the most helpful places I have found is the google images database. You can see Hispaniarum and the date 1776, so putting this on the google images site, you come up with a page of pictures that you can quickly scan. Some of our other contributors were apparently born knowing how to search
