Hi Everyone. I wanted to check with you pros before pulling the trigger on this coin. Does this look authentic to you? It's listed for 25.00 which I think is a good price for one of these early colonial pieces. Thanks for any feedback. s-l1600.jpg 1775.jpg

It looks real, as for the price no clue.

    But nice condition

I have several 1797 cents that are pretty similar, looks good. $25 seems a little high considering the condition, but not crippling.

It looks like a contemporary counterfeit to me. Details don't look like a genuine coin. Counterfeits were actually more common in circulation at the time than genuine coins.

I don't know much about these, but it's pinging my counterfeit radar. The wear pattern looks off.

Thanks For the feedback Guys. Looks like I'm on the fence with this one. I know some collectors collect Contemporary counterfeits. But I'm not one of them. So I think I will pass on this one.
