1774 Laughing George

    So my latest purchase seller states "laughing george" variety. I've never heard of a laughing george. Maybe it exists. If so its rare. I believe this is a "old guy" variety. Late die state. The problem is the obverse 4 does not match my theory. The old guy has a drunken 4. This does not. So is it a laughing george....or a mule?

    I considered that. I don't think it is. I don't think its environmental or corrosion either.

    Also let me clarify. I am looking at the "reverse" 4. Not obverse. That was a typo. My apologies. I do all this on a phone which is probably gonna change shortly. Sometimes auto correct gets me. Sometimes I just slip.
