The coin was struck with rusty dies, which explains the roughness you can see around the rim. It was also a strike through error - the marks that you see going up through the center of the coin and under the Q. They are from a piece of string from a cloth that was used to try and clean the die before use - the string stuck to the die with the result that you see. </p><p><br /></p><p>I believe your coin is genuine. It shows quite a bit of wear though, so that hurts the value. But look closely at your coin as compared to mine. Notice the difference in how the obverse begins - yours has a pellet stop at the beginning and end. Mine has a floret stop at the same positions.
